Part-time Menís Rugby Club Coach Wanted

The Westmoreland Highlanders Men's Rugby Club is a Midwest Territory Men's Division III Club located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The Highlanders play a fall League, regular season, schedule against Clubs in the Midwest Territory, which encompasses Clubs from Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan.

 

The Men's Rugby Club is a growing, competitive Club looking to grow both on the field and off.  The Club currently hosts a number of players in the mid to late twenties, who have Collegiate Rugby experience, and we also host a number a players with no Rugby experience.  The Club also has a number of dedicated Alumni from when the Club began in the early 80ís.

 

Expectations:  We, the Highlanders, are looking for a Coach that can dedicate at least one evening per week to run weekly practices.  The Coach will also be asked to attend all matches/games as scheduled throughout the year.  When unable to make practice, the Coach will be asked to utilize the Captains to run the Club in his place.  The Coach will also be asked to design and implement a strategy for the Club as well as game plans on a weekly basis.  The Coach will instruct the Club on how to best prepare for each opponent.  The Coach will be in charge of implementing the game day line-ups.

 

The Coach will also be asked to assist the Club in building relationships with local Collegiate and Youth programs in an effort to both grow the sport in the area and help recruit players for the Club.

 

Compensation:  The Club is willing to assist the Coach in finding residence and employment within the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area.  The Club is also willing to pay the Coach a salary based upon experience and knowledge.  Once an applicant is formally considered, a contract with terms of service and compensation will be agreed upon.
