As one of the
nation's largest population of Irish, residing on the Southside of Chicago, it's
only fitting that the South Side Irish Rugby Club host our 9th Annual Whiskey
10s Rugby Tournament in conjunction with the St. Patrick's Day celebrations that
will be taking place throughout Chicagoland . . . the Windy City. The
Whiskey 10s Tournament has quickly grown into one of the best Rugby 10s
Tournaments in the country, and it is a great way for Clubs/Teams to shake off
the rust and start their Spring Season! Men's, Women's, and Collegiate
Sides (Clubs/Teams) from Oklahoma to New York have all come together to ensure
that each Side will get to play Sides outside of their normal Territory/Union.
Each Side will is guaranteed 3 matches/games of Pool
Play with a playoff and Championship Match at the end of the day.
After the Tournament the South Side Irish will host a free party at our
neighborhood pub. The Tournament has gotten bigger with each passing year
and so . . . GET YOUR TEAM(S) REGISTERED EARLY BEFORE
THE TOURNAMENT BRACKETS ARE ALL FILLED. |

|
10s is a great way
to begin a season! You get to hit and run for 20 minutes as you work off
all of the rust from the long off-season. For those unfamiliar with a 10s
lineup it is made up with the following players: 2 Props - 1 Hooker - 2
Locks - 1 Scrumhalf - and 4 Backs. Each match consists of two 10 minute
halves, with a 5 minute break at halftime . . . it's that easy . . . and fun! |
