As you know, our premier Spring
10s
Tournament runs in conjunction with our famed
Chicago South Side Irish Parade, happening the very same weekend! The city will be stirring, and so will our guests! Not only will you enjoy
the atmosphere of the great tradition of Irish celebration, but also, you will
get to loosen up the 'Rugby rust' against some other Teams in the Midwest.
Our Tournament has grown into one of the best
10s
Tournaments in the country!
Once entered, your Club will get a guaranteed minimum of three games in a Pool
Play structure. Pool Winners play up to five games! Worried about
playing the same old Teams? We'll be sure to try to give you pairings out
of the ordinary, giving your Team fresh looks!
Since Easter falls
later this year, '09, the Tournament is also a week later, which should offer
some nicer weather than we had last year. Last year was the biggest and
best Tournament to date, so . . . get your Team[s] Registered early before the
Tournament Pools are filled up.

Game Play:
10s Rugby is a great
way to begin a season! You get to hit and run for 20 minutes as you work
off all the rust from the long off-season. For those unfamiliar with a
10s
lineup it is made up with the following players . . . 2 Props, 1 Hooker, 2
Locks, 1 Scrumhalf, and 4 Backs. Each Match consists of two 10 minute
halves, with a 5 minute halftime break . . . it's that easy!
The South Side Irish St.
Patrick's Day Parade: For those of you who may not be familiar with
the South Side of Chicago, the famed South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade
takes place on Sunday morning the 15th of March, just a few short miles from our
Rugby grounds. Specifically, the Parade begins on 99th and Western Avenue
in Chicago, and proceeds through 115th Street. The route ends at Kennedy
Park, where the South Side Irish will play a Parade Match in front of a
neighborhood crowd. If you're interested in making the venue on Sunday
plan on getting to the Parade by 10:00 AM . . . the area gets crowded fast with
over a hundred thousand people celebrating. Get there if you can . . .
